Thinking about when a protester interrupted the first day of Kavanaugh hearings, yelling that if healthcare were repealed she would die, Orrin Hatch told Chuck Grassley to "have this loudmouth removed...We shouldn't have to put up with this kind of stuff."

I still feel like flipping tables over this onion of misogyny, insecurity, toxic masculinity, elitism, and blatant ignorance.

Together, we will build a world where the accomplishments of our daughters will be celebrated, rather than diminished.

A study showed that play stimulates the fight-or-flight response without triggering cortisol (the stress hormone), so children can practice handling danger. #Playmatters #PlayOutside

So many of my former colleagues either left the classroom entirely or transitioned to teaching at public schools so they could access the benefits and professional courtesies provided there (PD, planning time, higher salary, paid breaks, etc.).
On the profoundly inequitable way we treat early educators who work in child care centers compared to those in the public schools... New @BrookingsEd piece w/ @ajmarkowitz & @molly_michie brookings.edu/blog/brown-cen…

Sometimes I get quoted places talking about things like how tiny humans learn.

I had to stop reading this for fear of throwing my laptop through a window. When will we stop disrespecting early educators and the critical role they play in brain development? Will return later with wine. nytimes.com/2020/08/04/paren…

I am always looking for the silver linings of this never ending pandemic and consider the momentum building around outdoor preschool to be one of them. So cool to see coverage of it in the press! #play #outdoorlearning #ECE #preschool
1/ Very cool to see Wonderschool Director Rachel Weiss featured in the @SFExaminer. She operates a #forestschool (also called outdoor or nature schools) here in San Francisco, which also operates as a #microschool for children ages 4-6. sfexaminer.com/news/pandemic…

When you start seeing ads for the book your very smart and thoughtful friend @CabinetofCurios co-authored and it's being released at a critical time to be talking about trauma and young children and their teachers and care providers. 👏👏👏
Subsidy payments already don't cover the cost of quality child care and you want to make them even less? kqed.org/news/11822452/newso…
