Told yesterday of a couple in their 80’s who went to their GP surgery to make an appointment to change her tablets as she has cancer. She was told she couldn’t have an appointment for several weeks. They sat in shock, then a woman who couldn’t speak much English came in to book and was given one the following day. The gentleman went to complain and was told they get paid £184 to give an appointment to the other lady. Shocking. 2-tier system.

I’m sorry Hannah Spencer doesn’t like the smell. I suspect her fellow MPs aren’t too keen on the stench of semi-digested kale which emanates from the woman, either, but we have to put these minor inconveniences aside. She represents a party which sees no harm in legalising Class A drugs, but cavils at alcohol. And she does so because alcohol is enjoyed largely by people who don’t like the Greens. I am proud to be English - always have been, always will be. On St George’s Day, and every other day. Never let anyone tell you that pride in our England is shameful, or something to hide. It is most definitely not. It is noble. It is natural. It is necessary. Our compass and foundation must be our history, and that is a history to be proud of. So why is it that others can celebrate who they are with no guilt, no apologies, no fear? Yet the English are silenced - patronised and insulted, despite everything that we’ve given to this world. I am tired of it. We are all tired of it. So now is the time for English men and women to finally stand up for themselves. To stand up for our history, our culture, our people, our very special way of life. Our home. Because if we don’t, and very soon, then we are all going to lose far more than a debate. We will lose everything. I think of how our country is going to look, feel and be in 50 years, even 10 years, and it fills me with a looming dread. It is not too late to change it, but that point is already recklessly close. We must now fight for the England we wish to pass on to our children and grandchildren. Because patriotism is simply a sense of stewardship, that's how I feel it. The belief that what we inherited matters. And that we have a duty to leave it stronger, safer, wealthier and more prosperous than how we found it. That’s the England I want to pass on. But always remember - the English like to leave it late. Morning Happy St Georges Day despite all the negative issues going on in our country I still love this country. I have travelled the World and yes for a quick fix there are some amazing and far better places. But to live, rain snow & sun and more important the people you cannot beat good old England!
