As someone born and raised in New York, it has been a long time since we have had a moment quite like this.
Our City has felt divided. We have disagreed on almost everything. The
@nyknicks finally give us something to agree on.
When
@KarlTowns said the goal was to give New York “hope” and “success,” he captured exactly what this team has done. They have already given us hope. And now an entire city is holding its breath, believing that something special might be possible.
For New York fans, this feels like the
@Giants’ run to the Super Bowl in 2007. The odds say one thing. The belief says another.
@jalenbrunson1 has become the closest thing this generation has to
@derekjeter. Not because he plays the same game, but because he carries the same weight. The same poise. The same confidence that no moment is too big for New York; and with a humbleness all true leaders possess.
This is a city built on rivalries.
@Giants or
@nyjets.
@Yankees or
@Mets.
@NYRangers or
@NYIslanders.
But right now, none of that matters.
Right now, New York is one team.
Thank you,
@nyknicks, for reminding us what that feels like.
Thank you for giving this city hope.
Thank you for making New Yorkers believe again.
You got this! 💪💪💪
