Greetings to all the new followers, I guess! In this house we know 1) Black lives matter 2) Trans rights are human rights 3) Fat phobia is bullshit 4) Big problems don't have simple solutions, and anyone who says they do is selling something I mostly tweet about d&d.

The merger of @CapitalOne and @Discover threatens our financial stability, reduces competition, and would increase fees and credit costs for American families. This Wall street deal is dangerous and will harm working people. Regulators must block it immediately.

ironically to use AI to create good art you probably need a grounding in doing it yourself manually. Learning and practicing a skill is what develops creativity, these guys don't understand that because they think it's "talent"

The number of messages I have gotten from cisgender people who read Pamela Paul's article and were nearly swayed until reading mine easily debunking it is unreal. I am glad I am able to fight back. But I do NOT have the reach that the New York Times has to offer.
1. The New York Times has published a 4,500 word opinion piece by Pamela Paul targeting transgender care. It is filled with inaccuracies, faulty citations, and factually incorrect claims. Lets dive in. Subscribe to support my work.

Most of you know I used to be a full-blown right-wing evangelical. Homophobic, transphobic, the whole bit. So what changed my mind? With only mild exaggeration, it was this 2-minute music video right here: youtu.be/zeZMTOSeHVw?si=L8i3… Stories matter. Art matters. You never know.

I cannot imagine Ryan Gosling would be willing to perform “I’m Just Ken” at the Oscars but what singer would you book instead?

For the first time in my life I own left-handed scissors. I feel powerful. Unstoppable. Quick somebody give me something that needs the edges gently trimmed

I sometimes think about how many people I've gotten to play TTRPGs with because of participating in Critical Role fandom on here. Not sure if I'll ever be able to recapture that. Where is that kind of community building these days? Are there discords or something?

That’s why I loved two of the biggest movies this year in Oppenheimer and Barbie. They didn’t have any messages or politics in them. Just were there to entertain and tell us about feminism, nuclear disarmament and senate hearings.
Bob Iger says creators at Disney have lost sight of what their jobs should be, entertain first, not messages. He adds that stories infused with “positive messages for the world” can be great but that it shouldn’t be the primary job. (Source: @sherman4949)

A number of people don't want sex ed taught to children because proper sex ed teaches about consent and helps children identify predatory behavior.
