IMO the minimum viable SoV probably needs either
1) a defi ecosystem of its own
2) a diverse ecosystem of other blockchains and the ability to trustlessly bridge to them
otherwise it'll eventually get encumbered a custodial banking layer
Bitcoin, unfortunately, has neither

Extremely speculative hypothesis:
1. BITO hits BTC futures position limits and the CME doesn’t make an exception. (Big *if*)
2. BITO must rotate to longer dated contracts to outrun the limits. That increases their portfolio’s duration and blows out contango across the curve.
