Because this is where we are now, and I firmly believe in a woman’s right to choose, here’s the link to the resources AOC shared: instagram.com/s/aGlnaGxpZ2h0…

Yeah, and?

And then there are the Christians who say “now our work begins…let’s care for them.” That’s terrifying: if you can’t care for people until you win, then your theology never saw their humanity in the first place. They were only pawns in your game. That’s not of God or Jesus.

Thrilled to launch the Next Leaders Fellowship next month with our inaugural class of 12 talented participants. Being able to manifest the Bowdoin commitment to the common good in this way is already a career-defining experience for me!
Next Leaders Fellowship (NLF) is building a framework to bring more Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) into the ranks of senior leadership within higher education information technology. Bowdoin College is the lead sponsor of the NLF program. bit.ly/3HFylOw

Crucial points, and this stands out for me, “Measuring performance by outcome, not time spent in the office...taking two months of leave shouldn't be a mark against an employee if they have otherwise stellar performance...”
Only 18% of CIOs & 31% of IT employees are women. We need to confront behaviors that marginalize women on the spot---those things that happen day in and day out that don't get to the level of going to HR, but progressively teach women they are not valued. ciodive.com/news/women-IT-in…

Hi, it's me, your neighborhood reasonable adult. I heard Dr. Seuss books were "banned" in a Virginia school district, which surprised me! So, I did what any reasonable adult would do with internet access: I looked it up to get official details. (thread)

Contrary to what people think, racism does not always and only show up as a slur, a mascot, a joke. It is entrenched in structures and institutions through power dynamics which makes it hard to dismantle. @theslowfactory
