Today is my last day of work as an Educator. Imagine in 1998 no computers or cell phones in class. Lessons & grade-books done by hand. No STAAR just TAAS. Kids were kept in line w/Paddles and Pops. I will miss the kids and the countless adults who have helped me along the way.

I was blessed to work with so many great people to mention, but I learned so much when I got to Lake from Lynn, Mark, J, &Sanders, and then got to spend 15 years with my brothers TP and Frye and and so many great players that made me like I knew what I was doing.

After 26 years of being a coach and teacher I have accepted an admin job in CCISD. I'm excited for a new challenge but will definitely miss being around so many great coaches, players and parents. Lake hoops has been such a big part of our family these last 2 decades

Robert was an absolute class act as a person and reporter. His dedication to covering local sports in our area from San Jac basketball, to HS football to youth sports was unmatched. I loved his interviews as well as discussing drills he could run with his own youth teams.

Pasadena ISD should name their press box after Robert Avery. He was an absolute legend! Awful news to wake up to. He was a great reporter, a true gentleman, and covered the local sports teams with true professionalism. Heβs going to be missed. #RIP
