š§µ March is colorectal cancer awareness month. In our work at the Health Decision Sciences Center at Massachusetts General Hospital, we see that supporting these decisions requires more than simply offering a test. It requires meaningful conversations.
At the same time, screening decisions are not always straightforward. For many older adults (ages 76ā85), the question is not only whether to be screened, but how, for example what method of testing -- and whether screening aligns with their preferences, health status, and goals.
