I've been away from this app for a few weeks very much enjoying some great time with family.
We were in Nashville visiting our daughter at @BelmontUniv the day of the shooting at Covenant School. That day, we were touring Belmont with our son when our daughter sent us the alert.

Perhaps we start by adjusting the language a bit. Rather than terms like "common sense" and "gun control," perhaps we say "weapon or firearms management."

So there we were, twenty years ago today, in a hospital room on base at Fort Sill, OK. My wife was in labor and I was doing our taxes. I finished about midnight and the nurses let me fax them in from the nurse station. A couple of hours later, @MadelynnMille27 joined the party.

I'm generally not one to post food photos, but this is an exception. This smoked bacon gouda sandwich at Oak Bean in @Oswego_IL is amazing. Anyone in or going to Oswego should treat themselves to this.

So, I listened to this audio book this week. Fascinating. Anyway listening or reading it will do so with their own political lens, of course. But it is a fascinating history of how we go where we are politically and culturally, regardless of the political perspective.
