the rust on the side view mirror is good patina, but also I am *terrified* of how loose it would get if I spray WD-40 in there to mitigate further rusting

in case any of you are freaked out, the grem was facing forward, but the physics of the downforce of the wind probably turned it to be aerodynamically glued to the mostly smooth top of the car
