The people lashing out against Iran for not including Gaza in its MoU with the US are forgetting that a ‘ceasefire’ was already agreed for Gaza last September, and it was approved by all the major Sunni players, including Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, Türkiye, and Saudi Arabia. Despite this ‘ceasefire’, the genocide and outrages continue in Gaza. But who is ultimately responsible for this? The defence of Gaza is the duty of the entire Muslim ummah, which of course includes Iran, but the state that has taken the primary negotiating role, with the support of the Palestinian resistance, is Qatar, backed by major Sunni states. The truth is that Iran has, through great struggle and sacrifice, only (tenuously) been able to include Beirut in its MoU, and even more tenuous is South Lebanon – to which the Zionists have certainly not agreed.

You people freaking out over criticism of Iran not mentioning Gaza in the MOU need to understand something. While there is supposedly a ceasefire for Gaza, there has been no adherence to it. Lebanon technically has a ceasefire as well. The difference is that Iran specifically demanded in the MOU that attacks on Lebanon come to an end and that the US act as a guarantor of that. They did not do this for Gaza. Mentioning this does not mean I doubt the sincerity of the people of Iran in their support for Gaza. I saw their sincerity with my own eyes in Iran. But they are not the ones negotiating the MOU. Their leaders are. And their leaders completely ignored Gaza in the MOU. This is unacceptable. Too many have forgotten, overlooked and abandoned Gaza. Arab neighbors are the not the standard for Iranians to compare themselves to. If Iran is truly committed to justice and resistance then it must stand by its own words. I expected better and I have every right to be disappointed and express this. I stand by what I said. Ignoring Gaza in the MOU was shameful and unacceptable.
