Nobody wants a city on Mars. Nobody wants AI in every app. Nobody wants a robot butler. Nobody wants data centers everywhere. Nobody wants flying cars or humanoid robots. We want clean water, we want bees to survive, and we want a habitable planet.

My coworker and I were talking about capitalism, and she said, “The Earth is a resort for like 500 rich people, and the rest of us are just the staff.” Now I can't unsee it.

They act like the biggest threat to society is a single mom buying soda with food stamps instead of a billionaire buying his 13th senator.

What I've learned from Sky News After Dark over the past month: We need to make housing more affordable without making houses cheaper or having people earning more. The government should be doing more because it's their job but also less because socialism. Negative gearing and the CGT discount have played a big part in what got us to this point, but they shouldn't be changed at all. Young Australians being able to afford their first home is almost as important as an investor being able to negatively gear their twelfth.

“If you want a living wage, get a better job” is a fascinating way to spin “I acknowledge that your current job needs to be done, but I think whomever does that job deserves to be in poverty.”

If some men are tired of me talking about male violence against women every week, imagine how women feel living with the risk and fear of it every single damn day.

Lately, there’s been a growing normalisation of misogyny as a legitimate expression of political dissatisfaction. That’s why when I saw the billboards targeting Allan, I wasn’t just angry for her. I was angry for every woman and girl across the country. theguardian.com/commentisfre…

“The ABC’s Managing Director Hugh Marks has said Charlie Pickering’s comments about Grace Tame didn’t breach ABC’s code of conduct. Very weird given Antoinette Lattouf was told she’d breached the ABC code of conduct for posting a factual Human Rights Watch post”

Women didn't fight for the right to work. Women have always worked. Women fought for the right to get paid.
