I actually don’t agree with this, growing up in a Nigerian home, they’d give you one large portion of rice (carbs) & one tiny piece of meat (protein) lol & you’d be happy, even saving the meat for last. I think that’s how a lot of people grew up with bad eating habits and unfit
Was having a conversation with a friend where I hypothesised that one reason people are increasingly unfit these days is that the modern world is structured such that we now eat more meals alone and consequently end up overeating.
Think about it. Have you noticed that when you eat with others, you tend to eat less yet feel more satisfied?
Shared mealtimes provided both physical and emotional satiation. They were filled with conversation, laughter, and shared moments. Eating alone strips away that social layer of fullness. The body is fed, but the mind stays hungry. So we keep eating, mistaking the need for connection as a craving for more food.
