WHAT A BUSY DAY IT HAS BEEN FOR WREXHAM UNITE!
Firstly, a huge thank you to Raise The Flags Shrewsbury PLUS . We cannot thank our brothers over the border enough for their support today with the cherry picker.
After our flags on Gresford Roundabout were cut down not once, but TWICE, the lads stepped up and helped us get them back where they belong. They are now flying proudly from the very top of the lampposts.
A massive thank you also to a local Wrexham lad with the relevant ticket who volunteered his time, travelled to Shrewsbury and back, and operated it for us.
Absolute legend.
Without the support of our brothers in our neighbouring nation, this simply would not have been possible.
The support, generosity and solidarity shown by the guys from Shrewsbury has been outstanding, and Wrexham Unite is incredibly grateful.
Thank you, lads. We wonโt forget it.
Always got each otherโs backs ๐ค
This evening we also held a flash protest in Queenโs Square. A handful of people turned up, but thatโs completely beside the point.
Itโs not about numbers.
Itโs about standing up.
Itโs about showing solidarity.
Itโs about making your voice heard.
Most importantly, tonight was about standing in solidarity with the people of Belfast and the rest of Northern Ireland following the horrific scenes we witnessed last night.
Wrexham Unite can proudly say that tonight we stood with Northern Ireland.
FOUR NATIONS. ONE KINGDOM.
One thing that did not go unnoticed was the complete absence of police in Queenโs Square tonight.
Not one police officer.
Why?
Because there was nobody there to counter-protest.
There was no threat of disorder.
There was no threat of violence.
North Wales Police know exactly what Wrexham Unite is about.
We are not there to loot.
We are not there to cause violence.
We are not there to intimidate anyone.
We are not there to destroy property.
We are there to peacefully show our resistance to government policies and to stand up for the issues we believe matter to ordinary people.
Tonight proved that when people gather peacefully, respectfully and lawfully, there is no need for a police presence.
No drama.
No violence.
No disorder.
Just ordinary people standing together and making their voices heard.
For every flag removed, more will go up.
We are not going anywhere.
See you Saturday.
12PM.
Wynnstay.
