Reimagining Cities, Together: Best Practices start with putting people first
At Telosa, we believe great cities are built and sustained by putting people first. We also see this people-centric approach reflected in the work at the City Science Center at the MIT Media Lab.

Recently, our team was privileged to attend the City Science Lab @ San Francisco launch, the 1st U.S.-based partner lab in MIT’s City Science Network which includes other major cities such as Toronto, Shanghai, and Hamburg. Led by visionary urbanist Kent Larson, this new civic innovation hub is designed to address San Francisco’s most urgent urban challenges through bold thinking, applied research, and real-world solutions.
This isn’t just a think tank—it’s about applying ideas to improve the quality of life for people. A space where data, AI, urban modeling, and collective intelligence are used to develop new models to:
Reimagine housing
Revitalize downtown areas
Run future "what if" scenarios
Scale urban solutions globally and more...
We are inspired by the Lab’s focus on civic tech, game-based modeling, and visualization tools that bring people into the planning process. Their work directly aligns with Telosa’s commitment to building more equitable, resilient, and human-centered cities.
MIT City Science is also helping to pioneer adaptive urban systems—designing places and mobility systems that respond to real-time human needs, environmental factors, and community values. From smart customization of vehicles to interfaces that encourage sustainable behavior, they are pushing the boundaries of how urban life can be shaped and improved.
San Francisco stands at a key turning point—and with bold leadership and collaboration across design, data, and community-driven tech, there is an opportunity to transform the city and utilize these tools and resources to help other cities around the world.
At Telosa, we applaud the global work of MIT City Science Network and are proud to be part of a community working to create a better urban future.
Let’s make cities work better for people.
