My team at Snyk is hiring an engineer. We work across the product looking for ways to reduce customer friction, increase stickiness, and shorten time to value all while measuring our impact via analytics. If you're looking for a challenge give me a ping. boards.greenhouse.io/snyk/jo…

I can't say how much this hits me in such a strange way. I clearly never met him but this tool influenced my career, even part identity (I'm a vim user), and it's something I still use to this day. I couldn't imagine having built something that impacts as many people as vim does.

Does anyone have 15 minutes to chat to me about Foundation DB's sharding/scaling model? Happy to pay for your time; just need a few minutes to ask some questions. DM if interested/available.

The best place to fix security issues is before they become an issue. Cool to see this moving along and I can't wait to see how it advances over time.

It's so exciting to see the blog post released! I've been working with an internal team to define the Engineering Culture here at @snyksec. A lot of work went into this v0.1. I'm excited to see how this grows from here. snyk.io/blog/snyk-engineerin…

The #appreciation channel in our slack is one of my favorite places. It's such a great way to give someone a big public "Thank you!".
10 Feb 2023
At Snyk, we have an "#appreciation" Slack channel where people give shoutouts to Snykers. In the spirit of the #appreciation channel: Thank you, developers and security teams, for solving millions of problems while building a more digitally secure world. ❤️

Another day, another project that my old team saw to the finish line. This was so much fun to work on with the team and I'm excited it made it to the announcement side of the todo list!

There is something invigorating seeing outside posts about a project you had some small hand in. Congrats to all my Snyk colleagues that worked on this integration project! It was great working with you!

I'm going to be in London next week for work. Are any of my London peeps interested in a fine meal out somewhere? I'll be down around the south bank around the Eye.

#lazyweb New office chair time, what should I be looking at these days? Aeron, Leap, something better come along since I last picked up a chair some decade ago?

Struggling a lot today after the weekend Musk news & posts. My brain says I should not be here if I have any values at all. That said, I do feel like it's a "make of it what you put into it" and would lose a chunk of my online community if I were to disappear.

This made me think of something. With all the zoom'ing of decks these days, are there different rules for presentations in a room vs presentations over a web conference? What adjustments do you make to the two scenarios?
Dear everyone presenting back in person for the first time in years: MAKE YOUR TEXT BIGGER. BIGGER THAN THAT I DON’T WANT TO SEE ANYTHING UNDER 36 POINT, AND 72 IS BETTER. MAKE MORE SLIDES, THEY’RE FREE.

Interesting question. I think a big thing would be if folks had local family they could lean on or not.

I really feel we need to pull selfies from that total though. Especially failed selfies that folks never remove/delete.

Always love running across this quote. I get asked all the time how one can "lead without being a manager" and this is always what I think about. We all lead, we all influence, doing is more meaningful than telling.

I've been noticing this at work a lot where I care less about rules and more about values and themes. Flexible ideas that guide work and decisions and can be adapted are so much more powerful than a checklist or a "must do" list.
