What happens when a bunch of museum & heritage learning peeps get together & they visit a load of venues? My timeline becomes filled with photos of either interpretation/exhibition panels & displays or fab dressing up models (aka sector colleagues). I’m here for both 😀
Finally home after an amazing 3 days at @gem_heritage conference. I’m still reflecting on & digesting so much of the amazing content. Some initial reflections 1/9
1st thoughts are around our role as custiodians and centring the community, engagement & learning is the way forward (this is the reaffirming part). I’m sure more will come out in the coming days 8/9
So much to ruminate on from day 1 of the @gem_heritage#GEMConference2024 with some great takeaways from the keynote speakers, member presentations and the buzz of conversations. So lovely to see old friends & make new ones as well.
The last few months have been difficult on a personal level. I'm starting to take small positive steps forward including moving into a brand new small office & moving back to the Amersham area. Big Changes, Small Steps
Fab few days @BCLivingMuseum for the @Aimuseums conference. Lots of food for thought, good friends & colleagues plus the new development is fantastic (with many things on display from my childhood that brought back memories & sparked conversations). Thank you to all.
What’s the theatre or concert hall’s equivalent to @gem_heritage & @engagevisualart? I’m supporting some apprentices & I’d love to signpost them to the best supportive networks for learning & participation with these art forms
This am my uncle died, aged 89. We didn’t always see eye to eye, in fact we rarely did. He was, however, always there for me when I needed him the most. May he rest in peace.
