In a further effort to make this a safe and inviting space for the kind of freaks, weirdos, and generally interesting followers I truly want, I have just completed a massive purge of mutuals whose accounts focused on right-wing, bigoted, anti-LGBTQIA , and generally problematic views. It is my hope that this will encourage the sort of mutuals that I actually want to interact with to follow me back and help this account grow in the direction that, frankly, it would have been heading all along if I hadn’t become distracted by bigotry and divisive bullshit.

Do you ever feel like people gossip about you behind your back, combing through your old social media posts with a fine toothed comb looking for anything they can find to show others what kind of piece of shit you are because that's how the internet is and hades forbid someone actually tries to stop being a bigot who supports fascists and instead tries to support those who are like themselves and who they should have been supporting all along? Maybe I should just delete this account entirely and isolate myself further from the world, not like the algorithm is allowing my posts to be seen by hardly anyone after changing course and the couple dozen or so who do see them seldom interact with them anyway while the algorithm taunts me with posts asking me why I bother posting at all. I never could understand what sort of boring and vapid bullshit I'm supposed to post to appease the algorithm and get the sort of engagement I see on other posts, all I know is how to be myself. Anyways if you actually made it this far thank you for reading my whiny rant, I probably won't delete this account because sadly this is the only sort of social interaction I get nowadays, such as it is. “It's only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything.”

Maybe if I delete my X account and go live in the forest I can find a dark witch who will teach me the ancient ways and not kill me in my sleep.
