As someone looking to break into string pheno in the next phase of my research career, this is a gold mine and I strongly recommend ⛏️
There's another wonder out there, written by another wonderman, #CumrunVafa: arxiv.org/abs/2212.06187 These 250 pages lectures are the closest you can get from a modern textbook on #QuantumGravity, including all the string theoretic background, up to the swampland program.

How long will I resist before I download it ?
50 Years of Quantum Chromodynamics - 567 pages and 4783 references occupying about 160 additional pages. arxiv.org/abs/2212.11107 Bon appétit #ft

The clarity of Cumrun's explanations, always going right to the point by the shortest path and the fluidity of his arguments are the driving forces of this masterpiece.

The focus on the landscape is written by Monica Jinwoo Kang, with additional material from Nathan Benjamin Agmon. The focus on the swampland is written by Alek Bedroya. I did not read these yet, but I'll keep you informed.

de Sitter: I've just found a new solution to your field equations. Einstein: I don't care, you are in the swampland.
Physics Photo Of the Day: Dr. Willem de Sitter and Albert Einstein discussing equations that provide the best available language for describing the universe seen as a whole, on a CalTech blackboard, Pasadena, c. 1932.

Big news: The Standard Model strikes again! LHCb reports a significant shift in both b → s transitions with run 1&2 data. R(K) and R(K*) now in agreement with the lepton universality prediction of the SM in all q^2 bins! arxiv.org/abs/2212.09153

#EdWitten What that man can do with little pieces of fundamental physics wisdom scattered across 50 years of litterature, is just absolutely unbelievable. arxiv.org/abs/2212.08270

A cosmic game of Connect the Dots may have revealed a left-right asymmetry in the arrangement of galaxies. The surprising finding is still undergoing peer review and many physicists say caution is warranted. @mccornut reports: quantamagazine.org/asymmetry…

I wonder how much niche is that tweet?
Why all that drama to decide if google quantum computer created a traversable wormhole or not, when every sane person with Netflix knows that for that matter you only need 4 friends or bots to do OA's 5ish movements synchronously with you? vulture.com/2017/01/oa-movem…

I couldn’t agree more: “In Freiberg, Novalis became convinced that physics and chemistry were as much creative endeavours as paintings and poems. ‘Laboratories will be temples,’ he wrote... Sciences, poetry and art belonged together”. From “Magnificent Rebels” by @andrea_wulf

Has the black hole information paradox been solved? The long-standing paradox may be closer than ever to finally losing its mystery. But there are strong disagreements among physicists and a new contender🧵 1/n

Humans are archaeopteryx of the spirit. Though this could be interpreted as an insult, for him it's a noble creature. As a transitional species b/w dino & bird, it aspired to fly. It didn’t do it very well but it's among the vanguard of creatures who later took flight.
How does mind emerge from matter? 🤔 It's a question that 2022 @TempletonPrize winner @FrankWilczek pondered at an event in NYC last week. Read more: bit.ly/3EjE8KB
