On this Day in MN History:
July 2, 1863 the 1st Minnesota charged down Cemetery Ridge at the Battle of Gettysburg, preventing a Confederate brigade from breaking the Union line.
This painting by Rufus Zogbaum hangs in the Governor’s Reception Room.

Believed to depict a Supreme Court Justice fishing in a northern river, this painting is located in the historic Justice’s Dining room in the basement of the Capitol.

Today is the last official day of the 2020 Legislative Session.
It is usually a very loud time in the capitol, but without the school kids, lobbyists and demonstrators you are left with the House roll call echoing through the halls. (Video taken in mid April)
