After this tragedy, @GovAndyBeshear has a very simple takeaway: "I just wish we'd show a little more love and a lot less of the hate... We're taught as kids to show love & kindness, we're taught in church to show love & kindness, it doesn't have to be that complicated." #KYGov

Sending hugs to all personally connected with the victims of today's shooting, and to the entire community traumatized by this violence. May our compassion to each other and to ourselves grow from this, and our resolve to fight for common sense gun laws strengthen
We lost four children of God today, one of whom was one of my closest friends. Tommy Elliott helped me build my career and become Governor; he offered me advice as a dad. 1/3

Here is a gentle reminder that today has been traumatic, even if you weren't there or don't know anyone involved. You are allowed to be upset. Please take a break from the news. If footage is released, you don't have to watch it. You can cry, scream, etc. Take care of yourself.

Linda Blackford: Kentucky's politicians are already sending us thoughts and prayers after yet another mass shooting. Grab your bullhorns and tell them that what we want is for them to act on gun violence. bit.ly/3zIXm98 ^JC

It is time to address common sense gun legislation. KY requires all guns confiscated in the state to be resold on the open market. Will not even discuss red flag laws in the legislature. No office of gun safety. Thoughts and prayers are not enough! It is past time for action.

Kentucky’s gun laws are among the worst in the US, and the state has the 13th-highest rate of gun violence. Kentucky lawmakers passed permitless carry in 2019 and continue to introduce dangerous bills to arm teachers and force guns on campus. Louisville research.www.everytown.org/r…

All parents should role play Christmas prep as superheroes. “Wonder Woman clocking in at 4 am to stuff the stockings before the kids wake up.” Merry Christmas, y’all.

The point is that most US Christians have realized that simply because something offends their own religious beliefs, they cannot legally refuse to serve people of a different religion or people who practice things that they (Christians) disagree with....

There's some confusion that the state is cutting the income tax rate and then "replacing" it with a sales tax on a few obscure services. Let's be clear: what they're doing is blowing a huge hole in KY's revenue stream. 1/

90% of Kentuckians support legalizing medical cannabis, yet the legislature has repeatedly failed to do it. Today I took action, signing an executive order allowing those suffering from certain medical conditions to possess and use small amounts of medical cannabis on Jan. 1.

Excited to see @MorganMcGarvey in this pic!
Proud to introduce the next class of @USProgressives today. With these members, our Dem Caucus is not only going to be more progressive - it is also going to double down on delivering real transformative change for working people in this country.

Sigh. People need to understand how campaign finance and party mechanics work A WHOLE LOT MORE before they cast their POV as fact. I am done with the “I’m smart because I know 10% of what happened” presented as the whole picture.

Replace “I’m smart” with anything that the author is hawking: conspiracy, favoritism, whatever
