i find it so strange when figure skating fans refer to their favs by their birth names 😭 you don't see anyone call katy perry "kathy hudson" or mone "god" etc... you dont know them personally and it looks like you want to connect with them on a personal level. its weird

Petr Gumennik is not Ukrainian, not transgender - he’s Russian and Orthodox. That alone cost him an Olympic medal in figure-skating. Even in today’s climate, Petr doesn’t “hate the West”: he has fond memories of traveling across the US and listens to Motörhead, Slayer, and Rammstein – a decent human being and a breathtaking skater, he also plays musical instruments (piano, guitar, and saxophone) and majors in informatics and computer engineering. People like Petr are way too intimidating for Western judges.
