Thank you Southgate for screwing up another Euro final. We can discuss whether Watkins and Palmer should have started. With Kane, Mainoo and Foden contributing nothing, why he waited that long to introduce Watkins, and longer still to introduce Palmer, is incomprehensible.

After Palmer equalised, all of three minutes after entering the pitch, he should have rebalanced the team, introducing a midfielder to replace Foden. A blind person could have seen that we had no one pressing or doing filter in the middle of the part.

The whole damn country was screaming, calling for that change; everyone but the person in charge could see that. He waited and waited, until we conceded. Only then he replaced Foden, only with Toney for a last throw of the dice. No miracle this time - although we came close.
