I watched a demo by @brad_frost and @domyen called "Agentic Design Systems in 2026," showcasing the new @storybookjs MCP in the making. As a designer I joined as a tourist and left amazed. I wrote up everything it means for designers and our Figma files. Thread 👇

None of this is a smooth pipeline yet, and most teams are nowhere near this setup. But the direction is clear, and the pieces are landing. A well-structured file and understanding of the landscape today means you are not starting from scratch when they do.

I wrote up what I saw, what it means for designers, our workflow and design thinking, as well as the practical Figma file prep. Long article, because on this topic shallow gets you either anxiety or hype, and neither is useful. christinevallaure.substack.c…

This article took a while, and I mean that in the best way. A lightweight agentic setup for anyone, no technical background needed, built entirely in Claude Cowork with md files. christinevallaure.substack.c…

I use it as an AI team to keep my book and everything around it alive: writing, editing, sales, product, website. I write, and design they help me do it better. The setup is genuinely simpler than you think. If you can write in a text file, you can do this.

What I find most interesting is how far you can get with almost nothing. No infrastructure or engineering. Just text files and a conversation. I am exploring how this connects to low-tech design system workflow, and early-stage teams who want to move fast without a bloated team

Thanks so much @smashingconf for inviting me back to New York. I gave my very first talk at this same conference a few years ago and was completely dying of nerves. Being back now, realising that anxiety can turn into excitement with a bit of practice, feels pretty sweet.

My Config San Francisco talk is now featured on Figma’s official YouTube channel, and it still feels a bit surreal: youtu.be/XJkUMoZJYgU?feature… And yes, I do have an impressive conference jumpsuit collection; it's my lucky thing.
