Today we learned what text features are in nonfiction. Then we worked backwards to build a nonfiction text to make it a passage. They did so well at making connections, and I enjoyed seeing their ‘ah-ha’ moments! #todayinComal @FariasSpitzer

Today we learned about the history of gingerbread cookies! Then we tasted a gingerbread cookie and casted our vote if we liked it or not. We then finished up with using our phonics skill of the week to create a ‘plate of cookies’ with words of the week! #todayinComal

Today we had our own Election Day in 2nd grade so we could vote for our Student Government Association members! We had a polling booth, voter registration cards,and then got a ‘I voted’ sticker when complete! #todayinComal #FariasSpitzer
