Are nfts dead? or did people just stop pretending to care about them? my thoughts on nfts are simple. there are less collectors now. less buyers. less sellers. the speculation layer is gone. everyone keeps trying to fix a market that doesnโ€™t exist anymore. bored apes started the nft craze. they made normies believe digital ownership was cool. but when something becomes cringe in the public mind, itโ€™s almost impossible to make it cool again. i do think the bad actors who scammed and extracted from the space accelerated that collapse in public sentiment. and when royalties disappeared, it pushed the real brand builders to leave too. once culture rejects you, the tech doesnโ€™t matter. itโ€™s not that founders stopped tweeting. itโ€™s not that projects โ€œarenโ€™t innovating.โ€ itโ€™s macro. itโ€™s supply and demand. thereโ€™s no demand right now. and anyone who doesnโ€™t understand that is just a fool. most people didnโ€™t actually want โ€œdigital art.โ€ they wanted status and profit. when those disappeared, the illusion collapsed. the next nft that works will be one people buy because they have an emotional connection to the brand. maybe itโ€™s sparked by a cultural phenomenon, a tv show, a toy line, a clothing brand, a meme. something that feels alive in the culture. thatโ€™s where this loops back to real brand building. if people genuinely love what you make, and it lives across mediums like clothes, stories, worlds, the ownership layer becomes a bonus, not the product. our own project (@thesadtimesco) with our clothing brand (@sadireclothing ) is building exactly that. brand, culture, emotional resonance, all before the token. a quick side plug, but itโ€™s true. people wonโ€™t buy nfts because theyโ€™re โ€œinvestments.โ€ theyโ€™ll buy them because it feels culturally cool. and when they buy in, theyโ€™re not just customers, theyโ€™re betting on your brand to grow. we believe people want a two-way exchange, not the old one-way model where you just consume and move on. now you can bet on the brands you believe in, and actually participate in their upside when you talk about them, share them, wear them, or build with them. nfts were speculation. the next wave is participation. when people feel aligned emotionally and economically, thatโ€™s when the flywheel spins again. donโ€™t rebuild the nft bubble. build ownership economies. make people feel like partners, not consumers. thatโ€™s where itโ€™s heading. and honestly, itโ€™s way more interesting.
