Another Israel–Lebanon ceasefire agreement. Another piece of paper.
We’ve seen this movie before: agreements brokered by the U.S., France, and the UN, followed by promises that Hezbollah will be pushed north of the Litani River and that the Lebanese state will finally assert control over southern Lebanon.
Yet the Lebanese government lacks the will, the authority, and the military capability to make it happen. And now it is expected to do so in less than 20 days?
My prediction: nothing substantial will change on the ground. Hezbollah will remain. The terrorists will survive. The only real difference is that Israel’s hands will once again be tied by international pressure.
Why does the world keep repeating the same failed strategy? Why are terrorist organizations constantly given another chance to regroup and rearm?
What am I missing?
