The #PowerRangersPreservationProject Presents Forever Red: Cole Meets Alpha 7! Celebrating #PowerRangersDay with this restored deleted scene from Season 10’s epic Red Ranger Reunion, painstakingly built from scratch by the talented Kadam’s Edits from the recovered raw dailies by PR Media Info. Presumably cut for time, this scene took place on the Megaship Mark II between taking off from NASADA and Tommy’s team briefing in the war room. Andros leads the other Red Rangers of Earth down the hall — TJ feeling right at home aboard the familiar ship; Jason stoically impressed; Eric stoked in front of Wes; Carter in awed silence; and finally Cole, taking in the experience with childlike innocence. Getting lost staring into space, the Blazing Lion is interrupted by Alpha 7 — originally properly introduced in this scene as a walking database of everything Power Rangers. Having grown up in the jungle and never seen a robot before, Cole reacts to the automaton with wonder. We teased this footage years ago before launching the Preservation Project, and we’re proud to finally present this lost scene as it was intended — complete with music and sound, special effects, and a very special feature by Campbell Cooley as Alpha 7! Campbell voiced Alpha 6 in Once a Ranger [Operation Overdrive’s Season 15 Anniversary Special], going on to voice Snide [Dino Charge], Cosmo Royale [Ninja Steel], Scrozzle [Beast Morphers], and Slyther [Dino Fury]. Rock Porium Employee Uniform from Mystic Force. 🎶🎤🎧 This piece of custom costuming was presented as a special crew gift and was thus not screen-used; but the vibrant violet top was sourced from the same stock worn by cast. The uniform consisted of a purple shirt with gray details, finished with vinyl ‘Rock Porium’ logo on the back. The shirt style is definitely evocative of a bowling shirt vibe, and includes the embroidered name of its owner above the front pocket. The Rock Porium was Toby Slambrook’s music shop in Briarwood, which served as a de facto real-world base of operations for the Mystic Force Rangers — who just so happened to all be employees. Necrolai’s daughter Leelee and Ranger ally Phineas later joined the ranks. Powered by Patreon Supporters like Rizwan Merchant. Become a Museum Sponsor at the 🔗 in bio. Phillip Andrew [Merrick / Wild Force Lunar Wolf Ranger] poses for his Ancient Warrior costume polaroid. Merrick was originally an Ancient Warrior of Animaria, charged with protecting Princess Shayla. Merrick adopted the Wolf Mask in order to gain enough power to defeat Master Org, but the mask cursed him and turned him into Zen-Aku; a Duke Org. Fearing a loss of control, Merrick instructed his fellow Ancient Warriors to seal him away. He eventually freed himself from the Org spirit, as Zen-Aku went on to become his own entity and Merrick embraced his own destiny to become the Lunar Wolf Ranger. The warrior costume recycled the cuirass chest armor from the Quantrons, leveraging the Gao Silver belt and holster with some knight embellishments. PLEX Style Guide Reference for Boukenger’s Zubaan, provided to Ranger Productions to develop Operation Overdrive’s counterpart — Sentinel Knight. The one sheet reference includes shots of the full suit in Battle Mode, the front and back of Sword Mode, and Battle Mode’s Helmet. Sentinel Knight was an ancient being who guarded the Corona Aurora and communes with the Morphin Grid. Power Rangers reverse-engineered an original design for Sentinel Knight from this reference, giving him robes and a more ceremonial appearance to better represent his more spiritual approach. It wasn’t until Mack [Overdrive Red] was able to free the sword Excelsior that Sentinel Knight’s spirit was able to fuse with the sword to create Ultimate Sentinel Knight — the Sword and Battle Modes from Boukenger. These designs also inspired the Red Sentinel Ranger Battlizer design, which fused these design elements with the Red Overdrive Ranger’s base form. Powered by Patreon Supporters like Rizwan Merchant. Bridge Carson’s Hero Gray SPD Cadet Tee from the SPD Pilot. 🟢 🚔 Though B-Squad would quickly be assigned SPD Cadet Tees suiting their respective Ranger colors, Bridge [along with Sky and Syd] began the series in versions of their iconic uniforms in charcoal gray — worn up through the trio’s first morph and into Part II of the premiere. The simple fitted SPD tees were layered underneath the Rangers’ uniform jackets throughout the series. Exhibit donated to the M⚡️M Archives by Bridge himself, @mattyaustin! The photo was snapped between takes on the Lightspeed Rescue / Lost Galaxy Crossover episode, shot outside the building where Olympius and the Batlings faced off with the full team-up of Rangers for the first time. @mikechat had a strong background in martial arts and stunts, which ultimately helped him land the role of Chad Lee on the series. Hero Super Samurai Shark Attack Mega Mode Armor. This special power-up worn by the Red Samurai Ranger resembled a customized version of his standard Super Mega Mode Armor, with blue color accents integrated from the Shark Sword / Zord’s color scheme. The rigid armor consists predominantly of large, carved pieces of dense foam covered in colored vinyl. The armor weighs just under five pounds, and has three velcro points for assembly — but make no mistake, it’s a tight squeeze! The Mega, Super Mega, Shark Attack Mega, and Shogun Modes were all power-up Cockpit Modes exclusive to Power Rangers Samurai; though originally inspired by Shinkenger’s series design elements, this armor was designed by famed Toku designed Tsuyoshi Nonaka. We’re honored to add this historic piece from the start of the Neo-Saban Era of the show to our archives. Powered by Patreon Supporters like @aresef at @Rangercast. The #PowerRangersPreservationProject Presents Ancient Awakening: The Network Cut Part II — Summoning the Savage Cycles! Our breakdown continues, comparing the original Network Cut of Ancient Awakening featuring Natasha Allas as Princess Shayla to the final episode as aired, featuring Ann Marie Crouch in the retooled role. In this next installment, the Rangers summon their new Savage Cycles and chase down Tire Org and his captive [Princess Shayla]. The Network Cut reveals a fight from Gaoranger footage that was later cut, as well as other minor deleted shots between the two cuts. In terms of what was later reshot with Ann Marie Crouch in the role, the Princess Shayla blocking remained largely unchanged here. Digitization & Archival by @PR_Media_Info. Edit by @KadamsEdits. The Power Rangers Preservation Project Presents Anatomy of a Scene: Jen’s Chrono Morpher Hologram! In this short comm, Jen [@theErinCahill] radios Wes to call him to battle with Max Axe downtown in the season’s penultimate episode. Used occasionally through the series, the 3D holograms would feature the torso of the Ranger on the other end of the comms project above the Chrono Morpher’s domed surface. The hologram would be shot on green-screen, and the two angles Erin Cahill shot here show how they took care to illustrate the three-dimensional aspect. Digitization & Archival by @PR_Media_Info. Production Design Specs for Operation Overdrive’s Practical Transtek Armor Build. The Bandai America / Power Rangers Exclusive leveraged tech that allowed it to transform between Vehicle and Battle Modes, both capable of doing damage to enemy forces and able to be individually piloted by all six Overdrive Rangers. The first slide draws schematics for the vehicle exterior as seen in-show, while the second shows a breakdown of how the set piece would work for practical filming purposes. The Transtek filming model was mounted on a removable gimbal, which also had pick points for hanging when necessary [eg. Battle Mode]. The original design offered an opportunity for ID color-specific panels if the Rangers were to get their own vehicles, though the show ultimately utilized one shared vehicle across the team. These sketches by Production Designer Miro Harre took into account discussions between the VFX Team and Design to address mitigating potential reflection issues for the windshield as well. Lord Zedd Press Slide for MMPR Season 2. The photo features the Power Rangers Exclusive Original Season 2 Villain, Lord Zedd. The Emperor of Evil strikes a defiant stance in a gray studio space lit with green. Zedd famously took over Rita’s Palace and minions after banishing her back into the space dumpster, later marrying Rita and eventually turned pure by Zordon’s Z-wave in Countdown to Destruction. Zedd’s evil form was resurrected by Reaghoul over 20 years later [production in New Zealand rebuilt his suit from scratch], once again becoming a formidable foe for the Power Rangers; this time, the Dino Fury Team. He succeeded in destroying Rafkon and the Dino Fury Rangers’ connection to the Morphin Grid, defeating the Morphin Masters and harnessing their power, and nearly bringing an end to the universe in the final episode of Power Rangers. Ultimately, Zedd chose survival over power — relinquishing the Morphin Master powers, and unwittingly submitting to an illusion loop on Nibyro where he was destined to serve Rita Repulsa’s whims for the rest of his days. Screen-Used Chromafury Saber from Power Rangers Dino Fury. The five Chromafury Sabers are the primary sidearms of the Red, Blue, Black, Pink, and Green Dino Fury Rangers. The Sabers were originally ‘arming swords’ wielded by the Knights of Rafkon, and were transformed with energy from the Morphin Grid by the Morphin Masters. The Rangers could insert various Dino Keys into the ‘mouth’ of the sword in order to access different power-ups and abilities. This action prop is made of hand-painted dense rubber, built with a high level of detail and likely leveraging the same molds as the hero props. Unlike the hero props however, this version has no actuating features; the mouth and buttons are molded in place and non-operable. The Chromafury Sabers appeared across three seasons, and were inadvertently destroyed when Zedd destroyed the statues at Dinohenge — severing the Rangers’ connection to the Morphin Grid. Except for Ollie of course, who retained a Dark Blue variant when Zedd made him the evil Dark Fury Ranger. Powered by Patreon Supporters like SJ. Become a Museum Sponsor at the 🔗 in bio.
