My creative practice is fragmentary and to introduce logic is to introduce friction, like two opposing forces.

Next Week | @ArtBasel Basel 'Meltdown' is a series of sixteen fully on-chain generative artworks by @andreasgysin. Each piece displays its own source code, where it continuously transforms, melts, and animates it over time. The source code in 'Meltdown' is its implementation but also its form. In the latest iteration, a custom syntax highlighter was added: the program highlights itself, too. The project was first written in 2023, and is one of the last programs that Gysinc wrote entirely by hand. An updated version was presented in Shibuya Tokyo, Japan following an invitation from @NORIWTS (@neort_io). The current and final version was completed in 2026 exhibited with Nguyen Wahed for Art Basel in Basel, Switzerland. Pictured: Meltdown #4 (BSOD), 2023-2026
