US housing affordability is a crisis:
The median annual house payment as % of median income has hit 39.4%, the most since the 1980s.
The rate has skyrocketed by 14 percentage points since 2020 and has surpassed the 2006 Housing Bubble peak of 38.1%.
It is now only below the 47.5% record set in 1981 when mortgage rates were as high as 18%.
Meanwhile, the average rate on a 30-year mortgage has risen by 100 basis points since September, to 7.1%, near the highest since July.
Buying a house has rarely ever been so expensive.

If Philadelphia receives 3" or more of snow on Monday it would be a rather rare occurrence of late. Over the past 4 years we have only seen 6 storms with 3" .

January was my worst month in years, y'all. In the receiving line at one funeral, walked it for another, and could have gone to a third...which was just some of the pain and heartache I heard about. Some of it will linger, no doubt. But I'm already turning the page towards leap.

November marked my 16th year on this app, and a marked decrease in my usage of it in the wake of a horrifying election result that's gonna be a major cloud over the next 4 years if we can even recover from it. I'll probably finish the year here, but it's BlueSky for '25.

Mass Media gave way to Social Media.
