The Harris County Jail didn’t report Walter Klein’s death because they released him from custody after he was taken to the hospital, before he died.
Because his death wasn’t reported, it wasn’t investigated by an outside agency.

I cant think of a reporter I’ve spent more time with over the years than @alexdstuckey, and there isn’t anyone out there working harder, caring more and doing everything they can do create the best journalism possible. This is honesty all just so mystifying.

She couldn’t afford to leave the state, so she continued her pregnancy in accordance with Texas law.
