Thinking about the emergence of the left side of our team and how it magnifies the importance of selflessness in the way we play.
Haaland, despite his ravenous appetite for goals, is the consummate team player. He is the first to celebrate teammate's goals and has shown he is more than willing to make the extra pass.
Grealish is the perfect partner for him on the wing, tracking back on defense, driving forward and causing chaos among defenders while Haaland sprints into position. Jack is also willing to make the pass instead of going for glory.
The departure of Cancelo and the emergence of Grealish happening at the same time is not a coincidence. Cancelo was CONSTANTLY beside Jack, demanding the ball. Nathan Aké is the complete, selfless opposite, giving Jack plenty of physical room to operate and shine, as well as mental freedom knowing that he has a defender who won't let him down behind him. He doesn't demand the ball for his own ego.
Selflessness and playing for your teammates - everyone wins together.
