Students have been studying the book βThe Boy At The Back of The Classβ - today we opened up a pomegranate after reading! Ss have been told to ask for permission from parents and carers when home before consuming - I hope that they have shared some with you and your family!

Today S3 students worked on creating a storyboard based on a short film, Piper. Piper follows the life of a little seagull who overcomes a challenge with the help of a friend!
We put this on our front stairs leading into our school. Saw parents and staff taking photos. Proud of small changes to acknowledge our traditional custodians of the land! β€οΈ #PrincipalJourney
Part of our literacy focus was vocabulary! Really enjoyed teaching this unit about natural disasters.. so many great books available that helps us understand the impact of these catastrophic events (and also what we can do to minimise it!)
So impressed with 5/6 Numbats during our art lesson! We learnt about Chinese Watercolour Painting. The focus was on pigments and how artists use the rhythmic movement of lines to give form, harmony and unity of style.
CESEβs latest case studies highlight 6 schools, & the strategies used to implement the new curriculum effectively with their Year 1 cohorts. Great to see how school leadership & collective expertise of teachers has led to great success at these schools. education.nsw.gov.au/about-uβ¦
Students visiting the amazing art mural today - we shared what we noticed about the painting and how it is relevant to our school and had the opportunity to ask some questions to the artist who created the magnificent mural! Canβt wait to see it when itβs complete πβ¨π¨
After our amazing excursion at Western Parklands Lizard Log, 1D wrote about our experience! We borrowed phrases and tricky words, said our sentences to our partners, wrote our ideas and then shared it with the rest of the class. π
1D worked on writing sentences to describe the appearance of a wombat. Students completed think-pair-share before writing their ideas π @CanleyValePS
Year 1 students completed a guided drawing activity for ANZAC Day. The red poppy is a commemorative flower of remembrance to remind us of those who died or suffered in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations.
Quality writers of the day! We focused on making sure our sentences made sense by using the sea-talk-write model to express our ideas! Proud of these students for having a go and using strategies to spell unknown words. πππ #year1
A quick pic to commemorate me taking the bus for the first time! I was actually so nervous of missing my stop and stared at my google maps the whole ride πππ (thank you mum for always driving me to and from work!)
Respect is our character strength of the week! Wise Owl, Elephant, Sifting Sooty, Guard Dog and Sensitive Octopus are characters that help us function and interact with others every day. #growyourmind#growyourmindlife
Watching @netflixβs Explained - so interesting learning about the processes, influences and impacts on many factors in our everyday lives. An easy 10/10 from me! πππ
