When NCAA tourney is in town, I always get flashbacks to 2012, when it was here and Blazers had one of those blow-up-the-season days, firing Nate McMillan, trading Marcus Camby and Gerald Wallace. Team had to do media stuff in offices because NCAA took over whole arena. Wild day!

This thing with Ichiro being one vote shy of unanimous HOF reminds me of when a Toronto broadcaster was the lone voter who kept Brandon Roy from being unanimous Rookie of the Year. At least that voter came forward

Fubo sent an email saying it is raising its basic monthly rate by $5 and regional sports fee by $1. There's only one reason anyone around here gets Fubo, and that reason isn't playing well right now. Maybe consider waiting until May to raise your rates, Fubo?

RIP Russ Francis, who was a titan in sports when I was growing up in Hawaii. A great tight end ("all-world," as Howard Cosell said) in the NFL, he also worked for his family's pro wrestling business in Hawaii and as a sportscaster.

Nice to hear @CHold on @DirtAndSprague serving as the voice of reason about Dame situation. Station should just pre-empt all else and play that section on a loop.

My takeaway from last two Blazers seasons: The NBA system for deciding draft order is rotten and needs to be fixed so teams don't have to lose on purpose. Heck, give the No. 1 pick to the team with best record outside playoffs. Incentivize wins, not losses. Tanking is a cancer.

My recommendation: If you have to, have to trade Dame, make sure you get Otis Thorpe, Marcelo Nicola and a draft pick with which you can take Randolph Childress. And send him to a team that will win the title next season.
