Over 70% of Labour MPs want the UK to rejoin the EU. So why is Starmer now such a part of the crackpot - and of course financially ruinous - Brexit cult , and why don’t the MPs change his mind - they do have that power. Please repost if you would like them to do that.

I don’t think I’m alone in admiring John Major’s readiness to use whatever platform available to him to speak the truth on Brexit.
"Brexit was sold to the nation on the basis of things that haven't happened and couldn't have happened" Former PM Sir John Major tells @amolrajan the UK's split from the EU hasn't "done anything good" bbc.in/4epewuM

We discussed rebuilding Ukraine’s agriculture at a recent @ForumForAg event and the message below from @ZelenskyyUa highlights how Ukraine is critical to global food security. Find out more or watch sessions from our #ForumforAg event at forumforag.com/events/2024-r…
Despite the war and Russian terror, Ukraine continues to be a contributor to global food security for dozens of countries, and we are increasing our capabilities. In just over a year of operation of our maritime export corridor, 70 million tons of cargo have already been transported. More than 2,500 ships have departed from Ukrainian ports. Ports in Asia, Africa, Europe, and America are receiving our Ukrainian cargo. Countries from Egypt to Indonesia, from Tunisia and Libya to India, from Algeria to China have received our Ukrainian grain. Thanks to the humanitarian initiative “Grain from Ukraine,” hundreds of thousands of families and millions of people in Ethiopia, Somalia, Yemen, and Sudan have received essential food supplies. I thank everyone working to enhance our export potential, and I am grateful to all those around the world who are helping. This undoubtedly strengthens peace.

2016: Boris Johnson, "We can take back control of our immigration system" 2024: Tony Blair to Geordie Greig, "We've swapped out younger single Europeans for much increased immigration from Asia and Africa.. We have higher levels of immigration, and higher levels of people bringing dependents into the country" Excellent from @Geordie_Greig 👏 Give him a follow 👍

📸 Behind the scenes at today’s parliamentary party photoshoot 📸 I’m so proud of be a part of the largest Lib Dem parliamentary party ever. It’s been a brilliant first two days getting to know my new colleagues, I have no doubt that we’ll be able to do some great work together.

Lots of questions since Thursday about percentages and "fairness of voting system" & "issues with democracy" after Labour landslide 👇 Don't remember any of this when Brexit was won on the tiniest of margins, denying a vote to the millions of us most affected, abroad and in EU

I'm delighted to be re-elected as our local MP. Thank you to all who supported me, including my wonderful campaign team. I’d also like to thank the other candidates for standing and putting themselves forward. Whether you voted for me or not, I will work hard for you and our area

Happy to have been able to vote in U.K. today for the first time in 25 years having been overseas so long. The Tories wrongly assumed most of us living abroad were on their side. 😂Happy to get a decent Labour MP elected in my Green Yorkshire valley, and the incumbent Tory out!

Former head of MI6, Sir Alex Younger, "I travel around Europe.. Nobody mentions the UK, we've just made ourselves irrelevant" "Brexit has marginalised us" "Putin will have been absolutely delighted by our decision to leave the EU, as will have Xi Jinping.. Britain will not rejoin EU in my lifetime, says Starmer - which is pretty damned depressing. There isn’t a single challenge we face which wouldn’t be easier to address if we worked more closely with our neighbours as part of the EU. Let’s prove him wrong theguardian.com/politics/art…

🗳️ Thursday (tomorrow) is #GeneralElection2024 🗳️ Since 2019, I’ve shown #StAlbans the difference a hardworking Lib Dem can make. It’s been an honour to have been your MP and I hope very much to have the honour of continuing to serve if you choose to re-elect me.
