"How much would you like to be paid for this role?"
You look at the job, you know it will stress you.
But you can also handle it, and you don't want to scare this client away.
So just as you were about to type $250, your ancestors look down at you...
...pitied you, and reminded you of one of my posts where I thought why you need to always ask the client for their budget first.
So you got back to your senses and typed.
"I don't want to overstep... what does your budget look like for this role?"
You see them typing in the comments and your anxiety keeps spiking.
Then your phone vibrates. It’s a new message.
"$3000"
You are confused at first. Not scared.
You're sure they made a mistake by adding an extra zero.
And just as you were about to ask them if it was a mistake, your phone vibrates again.
A second message.
"The last person who filled this role was compensated $4,500 monthly. We understand how tight this might be for you, but this will be reviewed after three months and you will be duly compensated."
Jesu Christi!!
You didn't even know you were sweating so hard.
You were very hungry five minutes ago, but now it's as if you've forgotten what hunger even feels like.
You quickly rushed to your phone calculator.
You've not even replied to the client o.
They can't understand what you're going through at the moment.
They no go understand, no worry.
You type in 3000 times 1367. The dollar to naira rate.
4.1 million naira.
EVERY MONTH.
If you get this job, your life will change.
You can support your sick mother with her hospital bills, you can actually help your father with the household bills, your last born can finally go to nursing school.
Again, Jesu Christi!!
You gather your last bit of composure to send one more email.
"Hello, I understand how valuable this role is to your team. I can work with your budget, only because I value your company's mission and it aligns with my values as a person."
Never to be caught unfresh!
Ten minutes later. Contract email.
You start on Monday, with 50% paid upfront.
Then five weeks later, you ask your boss one question:
"Why did you choose me out of the over 233 people who applied?"
He finally replied that your proposal stood out.
"You sent your proposal like someone who knew exactly the pain we were going through and came with a solution."
You see, the power of a good proposal can never be underestimated.
Stories like this are why I created the Proposal Templates Bible.
Because I was tired of watching people who deserve to win get rejected.
Your proposal is your first interaction with the prospect.
You can't mess it up. Please don't mess it up.
The Proposal Templates Bible is still available.
It includes the same strategies I have used to make over $150k on Upwork and $300k across board.
The price now is just ₦10,000, and it will increase by June.
If you get just one client with the secrets in the pages of this book, you'll make your money back with a lot of profit.
Many people are applying for the same jobs you want.
They might even be more qualified than you.
So how do you stand out?
See page 37 of the Proposal Templates Bible.
