We at the National lConfederation of Dalit and Adivasi (NACDAOR) are deeply saddened by the passing of a stalwart of Dalit Movement and our dear friend Ranjit Meshram who was a committed journalist and social activist from Nagpur, whose life was dedicated to speaking truth to power and amplifying the voices of the marginalized.
Through his writing and public engagement, Ranjit Meshram consistently highlighted issues of social justice, caste discrimination, and the struggles of Dalits and other vulnerable communities. He believed that journalism must stand with the oppressed and serve as an instrument of democratic accountability.
Beyond the newsroom, he remained actively connected with people’s movements and civic initiatives, embodying the values of courage, integrity, and compassion. His work and presence enriched the progressive and Ambedkarite public sphere in Maharashtra.
His passing is a profound loss for the community of journalists, activists, and all those committed to equality and justice.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.
Ranjit Meshram will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to truth and social transformation.
