5 years of being case-free on my iphones comes to an end. dropped my phone on a bike ride and it left cracks all over last weekend. now i have plastered a screen protector on top and put it on a case before I upgrade later this year.

spent the last few weeks reading and writing about uncertainty quantification and how it feeds into robot observability aryanmadhavverma.com/posts/u… tldr: we have methods to quantify how far a robot's new observations, actions and tasks drift from its training distribution. we can turn those deviations into thresholds and monitor when a policy is about to fail, halt it in time, and later use the same signals to attribute why it failed and build correction mechanisms on top. failure detection for action generating policies is still a nascent space and I couldn't find a lot of open source systems that build on top of these techniques conceptualised an architecture which I'm going to build and test on my so101 now. for anyone working in this space and is building observability infrastructure for robotic foundational models, I'd love to chat!
