I think I know why I’m happy for the Knicks. It’s a big city with lots to do, New York. But God do they love their basketball team. They hadn’t won since my mother was in High School, but that didn’t define the culture of the franchise. The lack of championships and being long suffering wasn’t the story. They never became lovable losers. Too much pride. The culture of the city defined the culture of the team. They celebrated in good times and bad, so it feels like this joy was earned. Not one guy on the Knicks was supposed to be the next big thing. They actually beat the next big thing. It’s just kinda dope.

So many deserving shoutouts. But taking a second to recognize the Knicks medical and training staff. From OGs hammy to Mitch’s hand. Brunson rolls his ankle twice again. Josh hart crashes into everything. These team was as healthy as you can hope for in the finals.
