To keep your smoke alarms working for you, test them once a month using the test button. Batteries should be replaced yearly or anytime they fail a monthly test. Even wired alarms have battery back-ups! #FirePreventionWeek #NCState

The first step in making sure your smoke alarms work for you is to put them in the right spot. Smoke alarms should be installed on every floor, in every bedroom and areas where people regularly sleep, and in the hallways outside of sleeping areas. #FirePreventionWeek #NCState
