I was laid off from @NPR w/ my brilliant team @LouderThanARiot.
As a 1st time SP, leading a year of reporting w/ limited resources was rough. Launching w/ the layoffs hanging over us was too. And being asked to finish the show knowing we lost our jobs is by far the hardest.
Well, looks like my time with NPR is up. Gutted that @NPRinvisibilia the show I love & have given 7 yrs of my life to has "stopped production". Gutted to not get to work with my brilliant teammates. Gutted that me & some 100 colleagues I admire have lost our jobs. This sucks.
Come hang out with me at this thing! You'll make stuff, learn in community, maybe even gently sing, "What if POD was one of ussss?" Applications due 2/12 🎧
So happy to announce that @neenpathak is coming back for a second round of the Pod-Pod! A lucky group indeed ☘️
Pod-Pod is a 3 month #audio#residency for podcasters who will receive feedback and mentorship from Neena & our partners @gildedaudio

Thrilled to join @NPR later this month as head of audio documentaries, leading the excellent teams on the Enterprise Storytelling Unit. Can't wait to get started! 🎉
My @NPRinvisibilia episode aired on @UpFirst today!!! Thanks NPR for prioritizing this important story about immigrant intergenerational trauma and, more importantly, how to heal it ♥️

It can seem like a magic trick - how workers go from feeling demoralized to feeling powerful enough to make demands of their boss. On the latest Invisibilia, a union organizer breaks down the mechanics of changing these feelings:

I have learned SO much from Chloe - about moving away from literalism and binary thinking, about playing with a variety of narrative and sonic tools to say something interesting and true. Highly recommend her class💫
This multi-session class led by @chloeprasinos will study stories that bend & blend genre & explore how & when to apply these techniques to push our work into deeper, richer waters.

Just wanted to say that @NPRinvisibilia has been killin' it this season. Fresh off @imontheradio's piece on how to get ghosts of the chest.. in individuals even entire communities. It is so full of heart possibility.

NOW: @aewendle, producer at NPR's "Invisibilia" podcast, and Cari Sietstra, Director of the Period Pills Project, join with a thought experiment on how "period pills" could offer a compromise in the abortion debate.

This has been years in the making. I produced and reported the latest episode of @NPRinvisibilia, in which I ask... it's one thing to talk about intergenerational trauma... but how do we heal it? To find out, I had to investigate a ghost story. 👻

There’s an old saying, “You can’t be a little bit pregnant.” But, what if you can be? In the latest episode, we look at efforts to redefine pregnancy in a post-Roe America: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas…
You'll laugh! You'll cry! You'll share with a friend and they'll ask if you're trying to tell them something, and how you'll answer depends on whether or not you're a pee holder in the middle seat of a plane...! npr.org/2022/09/08/112174752…
Invisibilia is back! 2022 feels like walking a tightrope. We’re grappling with control of our bodies, our time, the direction of our country - while trying to not spin out and just doomscroll. This season, Invisibilia takes on control: npr.org/2022/09/05/112111897…
In a figure like Ganesh Devy, we see what it really means to value the cultural heritage of India, and fight for it -- a vivid contrast with the dumb cult of religious nationalism. Please read and learn about his efforts.
