After an unexpected health crisis I've decided to wrap this up in two posts; the first a plea to anyone happening upon these posts to use the information and questions we discovered and begin asking why there isn't more news, more preparation, more planning and more involvement and help by denomination and church leaders for a prophesied event that will demonstrate that we, as Christians, believe the Bible can be trusted and prophecy is to be believed.
These are the takeaways from our book study on David Jeremiah's "After the Rapture."
There will be a huge number of people, especially in the United States, who will be affected by friends and family suddenly disappearing who will have no idea what happened, what to do or where to go for help.
Our silence leaves them without understanding, Christian influence or hope.
Churches will be decimated, but there will be some members and staff left behind who can be the basis of helping and guiding those seeking out comfort in unbelievable times; if those left behind know where to go.
One of the greatest witnesses to our belief in God's trust and prophecy would be to openly talk about the Rapture and what it will mean.
There are many things not being considered that should be regarding finances, wills, and ways to prepare.
The departure of so many will result in catastrophic financial collapses, but history teaches that there will come a time when order, in some way, will be restored.
Preparing for the time when you are gone isn't as simple as knowing you have a will; most executors will be with you and Jesus, so planning beyond this is vital.
Since existing churches will become the focal point for those seeking Christ, it's vital your church prepare. At a minimum put together an operations manual for the building, and even your house so with pictures and simple instructions on basic repairs and maintenance.
Prophecy tells us the end times will be horrific with Christians (without the mark of the beast) being completely shut out of even the simplest commerce; are there plans or preparations that can be made?
The more information we can make public, the more hope for those left behind, and the more people who can understand and provide answers.
For example: our trust has an alternate trustee as the law firm who compiled it and our choice of beneficiaries are our home church and Christian organizations we trust. Although I haven't yet composed the letter, I will send an outline letter, asking it be shared in the event the Rapture is in our lifetime.
In the next few days I'll include a copy of the letter our group included in a small, minimally-decorated manilla envelope along with two pamphlets on Christianity from Living Waters.
I know this is long; please pray about what you personally can do and if this is something you should be speaking with church officials about.
One final question to ponder that we still have no answer for; If we truly believe in the Bible and the truth of prophecy, why is this not being talked about and planned for among every denomination?
