Question @katiejwoo … Gray pitched Monday. But even with 5 days rest, he’s not pitching Saturday. Is that a coaching decision or by Sonny’s request? It makes no sense to not go with your best as often as you can with regular rest.

Blame the manager? The hitting coach? Ownership? The players themselves (who continue to bat in the same fruitless spots in the order, and striking out and without HRs in record fashion)? Frustration at a peak.

I don’t see any quick fixes either. I thought starting pitching would be a bigger problem than offense but starting pitching has been pretty good.

Understandably, there is a lot of angst today over the #STLCards thinned bullpen and starters not going deeper yet. But this is where the concern should be after four games:
The top of the order (Donovan, Goldschmidt, Gorman, Arenado & Contreras) are 12 of 73 (.164) with 26 Ks.
