I’m finding that managers would all benefit from becoming good at prompting. When I see people use AI tools to do “soft-skills” tasks, like writing and getting feedback, the biggest pitfall has been: they don’t naturally provide enough meta-context. It’s a good lesson in interpersonal communication: what implicit knowledge do you have which the other party doesn’t? What are your motivations in the first place? What unspoken constraints are you holding? What have you tried already which should be avoided? What are the physical parameters of the output you want?
