The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees.
The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance.
Access to all other Claude models is not affected.
We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible.

Most people think trading is about being right.
The best traders and poker players know it’s about making good decisions under uncertainty.

When we thought about what kind of bets we could make to grow Solana, poker was a standout:

We approached @WSOP to see how we could collaborate deeply and came away ready to go all in.

- Creating content together to educate traders on the game and poker players on trading onchain
Poker is a game I’ve loved for 20 years and I’m personally excited to bring these two adjacent worlds together.

Anthropic just dropped Claude Fable 5 today and it's a different category of model.
Fable is the first public release from Anthropic's Mythos class, the same model family that was previously restricted to a handful of vetted cybersecurity and biodefense partners. It now sits above Opus in the model hierarchy.
Where it actually shines:
Software engineering: it scored 80.3% on SWE-Bench Pro. Stripe handed it a 50M-line Ruby codebase migration that would have taken a full engineering team two months. Fable finished in one day.
Long, complex, agentic work: the longer and harder the task, the wider the gap over other models. Quick questions? Marginal difference. Multi-day autonomous workflows? It's not close.
Vision: dramatically improved. Previous models needed overlays and manual position resets to navigate visual interfaces. Fable handles vision-only tasks natively.
Knowledge work and analytics: Hex gave it a 90% on its core analytics benchmark. "Strong judgement and attention to nuance" on the hardest questions.
A few things worth knowing if you're on a Claude subscription:
Fable is included free on Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise plans through June 22 (although it counts as 2x usage against your plan limits). After June 23 it moves to pay-as-you-go usage credits at API rates ($10/M input, $50/M output, double the price of Opus 4.8).
For builders and technical teams, it's available now on the Claude API as claude-fable-5.
