For a second straight night, Detroit police chose restraint over confrontation, letting protesters defy the 8 p.m. curfew. And no surprise, the rally ended peacefully.
When I was assaulted by @detroitpolice, they smashed my glasses. On the ground were numerous cell phones and glasses and backpacks. Police told me they throw that stuff away. Protest and serve, huh? Thanks, @MayorMikeDuggan. Maybe you ought to hold your police accountable.
“No justice, no peace...” Protesters are marching through downtown Detroit all evening as the police have stood down from enforcing the curfew #Detroit#DetroitProtest#NoJusticeNoPeace

Just got attacked, punched, kneed and elbowed by police, who threw my phone and broke my glasses. More worried about the protesters. Mass arrests. Out of control in Detroit. That was police brutality.
