Some irony here in that it was Conservative MPs in particular who railed against the BBC sending staff abroad to cover major events.
The @BBC has its World Cup presenters in a Salford studio whilst ITV will be live from New York. Licence fee payers deserve better. The BBC has trebled the number of people earning more than £100k in the last 5 years. Any good business would make cuts to senior management, not the viewer experience.

I’m baffled by the criticism of the BBC’s decision to stay at home. Is anyone really tuning in to admire the backdrop? The same people who complain the BBC spend too much money, are now complaining at this cost saving move!

This is revolting. Black men are twice as likely to develop prostate cancer as white men of the same age. It's not about two tiers, it's about focusing on those most at risk. There's an entirely legitimate argument that screening should be available to everyone, but given the money made available, to frame this as some sort of positive discrimination in favour of black people is foul.
On the day the whole political establishment claims we do not live in a two tier country, they announce this. Note, the NHS makes NO drugs available exclusively to white people.
