ALT Funding announced for new inclusion project £250,000 funding has been announced for the new 'Equity by Evidence: Race and Ethnicity Inclusion in Research' project
ALT Reward and recognition - We will be developing NIHR guidance for the remuneration and recognition of community engagement activities to allow NIHR and researchers to better work in partnership with community organisations and groups.
ALT Training for capacity building - NIHR will deliver a range of training and support for public contributors, researchers and applicants on NIHR’s patient and public involvement and engagement expectations and best practice.
ALT Embedding Research Inclusion - We will be evaluating our mentoring scheme pilot, which launched in 2025-26, and plan a wider rollout. The scheme is for those who are not yet public committee members but are interested in building skills and experience to become one. The scheme aims to increase the diversity of public contributors who partner with NIHR.
ALT Strengthen partnership activity - We will continue to support the development and implementation of institutional-level patient and public involvement and engagement strategies for NIHR Infrastructure, fostering greater collaboration between NIHR infrastructure schemes hosted by the same institution and streamlining efforts.
