i think its odd seeing ppl say the site switch isn't really an honest effort yet when literally hundreds of ppl in the community are moving over from here each day and im already seeing engagement close to what i saw on here
numbers wise, im almost to 3k follows, and we're already seeing 800-900 likes on a lot of posts, which is insane
that stuff just takes time to grow, but, most importantly, all the interaction has been going hard, and the interaction has been genuine enough to feel more close than it ever was here.
besides, its the people that switch first that are the most active in general anyways, and can give a lot of support over there. the rest are just LIving people that take some time to see if you've moved, and to switch in general
but, again, for everyone in the back:

stay calm, focus on what's local, focus on your friends.
there's going to be a lot of fear, but try to be informed and try to avoid just panicking. a lot of the country still supports us, even if it seems like a majority doesn't, trans policy is not going to be intensely tried.
im still shocked on the results, i really didn't think id be here and up so late thinking about all this.
but focus on uplifting the people you hold close before anything. it's disheartening to see what's happened for so many of us.

again, i recommend switching sites. im not pulling some bullshit ad for my own sake.
having a site where i can healthily look at art and a normal amount of politics, where its my choice what i see, has been important.
this site openly participates with this mess

a quick note on this:
this isnt really because of the random and asinine changes this platform goes under every once in a while, thought they suck, they usually, inevitably, get rolled back or otherwise barely do anything (unless that whole blocking thing actually happens, then fuck off). its more because these bombastic changes and utterly obviously horrible decisions, i feel, just work to hide the actually shitty changes that happen in the background
things like the timeline becoming clogged, the userbase becoming shitty, the weird favoritism from elno, the insane presence of bots and blue accounts. the blue accounts especially, like why ???? its horrible
the overall experience of being here started getting awful a while back, and then kept getting more awful, and has just never swung back in the slightest
boo sky has promised to be really nice, though! and even when i first experimented with it a while ago, its vibe and setup had me really excited for it's future, and even MORE now with people actually populating it. it reminds me of a nicer time looking at art, when i could find good art, memes, new artists, and also, if i chose, SEE ALL THE ART THAT THE ARTISTS I LIKE POST ??? because thats a luxury i guess now ???
no, im not leaving yet, and i know that ive promoted beesky before, and not moved yet -- but the difference is that the platform is getting better and better (they just got pinned posts! they have videos already, too!), and with the Glory of a proper, no bullshit, timeline, and as interaction starts sparking there, im getting a lot closer to actually prioritizing that site over this dump
im gonna be posting all the same art there as i do here, regardless! so, make sure uve followed me there now, so u dont have to find me later, just in case!! :3
