It is the work of so many amazing Australian women to finally get “men are not women” on the front page of the newspaper, and absolutely unforgivable that it’s a fight we’ve had to have in the first place. But we’re not giving up until we have our rights back.

Flooded fields. These are not actual ponds, just flooding from recent rains.

I now agree that a rising tide lifts all boats. But someone in a tiny leaky boat only sees others’ taller nicer boats, not the shore. You can provide evidence about sea level, but humans are fundamentally concerned with relative status, not facts.

I’ve been thinking, and we should have a slogan, a motto for everyone who refuses to be guilt tripped into saying things we know aren’t true, or into denying things that are. In 1633, the Catholic Church, via the Inquisition, forced Galileo to recant his claim that the Earth moved around the sun. He is said afterwards to have defiantly stated, “Eppur si muove” — “And yet it moves.” He knew that whatever the Church dictated, whatever lies they forced him to repeat, the Earth, nevertheless, continued to move. The binary and immutable nature of human sex is as scientifically certain as the motion of the Earth. Even if the entire world - every single one of us - believes that some women are born with penises, and that some people are neither male nor female, neither of these things will ever become true, just as no amount of human belief ever made the sun go around the Earth. Eppur sono uomini — and yet they are men.

My Ti-Rush's seat mount attacher thing broke AGAIN. The original snapped shortly after I got it (used) in 2020. I had it welded/repaired; it snapped again the next year. I had a new, stronger, heavy-duty one fabricated and it's busted now. Granted, I have put 21,724 miles on the bike (according to Strava) but it's expensive and time consuming to keep returning to the machine shop, where they roll their eyes at the weird lady bicyclist. Should I get the next one made of steel instead of aluminum?

Update: I'm replacing the entire seat assembly with a used Rans seat, which fits the mount on this bike. Probably no more expensive than getting a new custom plate welded.

No, thanks. I’d rather lose all my hair than go on estrogen, which for males atrophies the penis, reduces testicular volume by 50%, destroys libido, atrophies muscle, and skyrockets the risk of stroke, heart attack, Alzheimer’s, and type II diabetes.
Replying to @zaelefty
Getting on estrogen early could have saved ur hairline. </3
